Spotlight Saturday - Royal Ensemble On Display

The Royal hoopla is still all a buzz, as it was noted in the news today that the complete wedding ensemble worn by Kate Middleton, accessories included (shoes, earrings, bouquet & silk tulle veil), is being displayed at Buckingham Palace as of yesterday, Friday, July 22nd and through to October 3rd of this year, as part of the palace's annual Summer opening.  In the spotlight once again, the ivory and white satin gown designed by Sarah Burton for the Alexander McQueen fashion house.  Visitors will be able to view up close and personal, the hand made lace applique that was made for the bodice and skirt using techniques that dated back to almost two centuries ago.  Middleton's gown had intricate patterns of rose, thistle, shamrock and daffodil incorporated into the design to represent every nation in the United Kingdom.  The garment truly is a work of art...

No Fur For Fendi!

The vintage Italian Fashion House that's been around since 1925... better known as 'Fendi,' has been asked to remove all of the fur pieces from their Fall/Winter collection fashion show that's set to take place this June 2nd.  South Korea's capital city, Seoul banned fur due to the numerous complaints from several animal rights groups. City officials even threatened to cancel the scheduled event if all animal related items aren't removed from Fendi's catwalk itinerary.

Fendi states, Milan had no issue with the 'fur for all' show they put on during the Italian Fashion Week and said Seoul's short notice comes as a surprise being there were no issues brought up during the months of preparation.  The company is continuing to negotiate on the subject but it's looking like a 'no go'!

Fendi is definitely not an 'animal friendly' design house as back in 1997 Naomi Campbell was fired as spokeswoman for P.E.T.A. (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) when she dared to wear fur at a Fendi fashion show in spite of making the bold statement... "I'd rather go naked then wear fur".

Fur is a personal choice and when it gets down to it, you either wear it or you don't!  There are so many 'faux fur' and 'faux animal' prints out there that if you choose to not wear it for ethical reasons, you can still wear it anyway...and guilt free at that!

Vivacious Vuitton!

Who doesn't love Vuitton bags?  This years new collection is absolutely vivacious as designer Louis Vuitton has lavished the avid followers with fresh new styles & bold palettes for their 2011 collection!

Louis Vuitton, is 'vintage' in it's own right being that the French fashion house has been around since 1854 & has been the world's leading designer ever since, currently topping a net worth of over 19 billion!  Although they originated with clothing, jewelry & accessories, they became uber famous for their signature monogrammed bags.

In spite of the controversy surrounding the creation of 'LV's' pieces being machined, the company still stands firm stating that there are over 100 stages additionally involved in the making of each bag to bring it to completion.  So in case you hand any questions regarding the validity of your bags construction, make no mistake...There are hands involved!

Vuitton is always surprising us with bold new concepts and I am especially excited about the new monogrammed, mono hued colorful clutches that are out now as well as the Avante-Garde chain strap Pochette...

I'm sure these gorgeous bags are worth every single one of the over 3,300 dollars they cost & so with that being said...maybe when gas prices come down a bit I'll got out and get me one!
