You are wrong. Since she is currently on an H1B, her previous H4 stamp is invalid. She will need to get it restamped. When she returns, at the port of entry, unless she gets her H4 restamped, her status will be H1B and she will not be let in on her old H4 stamp.

I know someone who did not pay the bill but returned to US without any questions

My parents visited here in US last year. Unfortunately my mother got high fever and admitted in hospital giving me bill of 30000$.
Insurance company denied my claims as pre existing condition. I tried several ways to convince insurance company but all in vain.
I negotiated with hospital to pay 15000 and paid off hospital bill.
I also got a doctor bill later and that went to collections. I didnt pay doctor bill (500 dollars) till today.
Does this 500 dollar collection notice will effect my mothers next visit?
If I pay now does it matter anyway?
Is there any chance of deportation?
Please advice...

My lawyer had applied on August 25th for the LCA. We got to know on September 3rd that there was an issue with the FEIN. We emailed the required documents to DOL on September 4th.
My H1 expires on September 30th and consequently my I94 on October 10th, so i'm a bit concerened.
I will post an update when I hear something from DOL.
Just want to confirm that I have till October 10th to get my petition to USCIS. Anyone?
Also, do i have to leave the country by October 10th if I can't get the LCA issue fixed/ petition mailed?

I think I would like to see more post saying -
1) I contacted my congress member or Senator. Have their commitment to support legal immigration.
2) I send mail to XYX number of my friend to join IV. Some may join and some may ridicule. But as IV member you did the job. The new member could either contribute 5 minutes of time everyday to contact Senator, Congress member or contacting friend, contibute money or at least raise the membership of this forum. Remember we are putting time to help ourself not IV. Because I know after most of us get GC, we will move on with life and next generation IV member will continue the effort.
3) I would like to see people in major city, launching a compaign to collect money. One of the idea which I think would be very useful is working with the Temple authority and selling food on some occasion. Some kind of arrangement should be made with Temple authority to get major part of sale collection to IV. This way we multiply our money. $20 can be easily made into $100 with some time from members.
My limitation is - I am in a village. But I will do something. I would not let limitation stop me.

Yes I got an I-94 with the transfer(Same I-94 number as the L1 one). I didn't go out of US after that.
Please note that I joined the H1 employer and later got an H1 transfer approved also.

Received the RFE today. It was asking for my birth certificate copy & translation. My lawyer says this is very common. For me this is stupid, they already got my birth certificate copy and the translation.

U can save the pdf files as u save ur word docs or floppy symbol to the left side on the top bar as u know .But cannot edit the pdf files unless and until u have pdf writer in ur system.

How often does a denial happen in a case of H1 "transfer"? Do you know? Why would a transfer be denied?
How often is an H1 denied? I have no idea but it happened to me...twice!
The first time, the attorney screwed up. The company fired him ...and me as well since I was then out of status (long story that I will post someday, maybe...):mad: Second time, I never knew the details but the company appealed... and won.
All that can happen on any type of application of course. Everybody makes mistakes, and even without mistakes, no approval can never be guaranteed in advance.:(

It is required of all irrespective of citizenship status to respond to a Jury summons. Not responding is considered contempt of court. The court can issue an arrest warrant for you..Always respond to the Jury summons....

Regarding reentry, there should not be any problem for your Mom as the bills were addressed to you (so her name should not be on defaulter list).
There is insurance (Visitor Health Insurance, Pre-existing condition coverage, AIU (http://www..us) - which covers pre-existing conditions) and their rates are competitive. But I've never had to file a claim, so don't know if they would be different...

There is obviously a missing link here. Sending random faxes to senators with personal requests will only compound the problem and testify to the fact that we are a bunch of scatter brains with no real goal.
You guys need to understand why the Advance Degree + 3 years H1B is included as an exemption. If there is some confusion please read my previous posts and look at the direction where the immigration reform is headed wit the F4 visa being such a hot issue and why it was passes by the SJC. Guys we do not want another S.1932 to happen, so please stop sending mindless requests that will benefit a certain group of people. The idea of this immigration vote is not just to benefit the illegal immigrants or the EB3 retrogression but also to address what the U.S needs from future immigrants. You need to take a step back to realize that the biggest winner here needs to be the UNITED STATES and not us or the illegal immigrants, and that�s when this bill will become a law. Hopefully there are more people this forum apart from Ramba that understood the ramifications of this vote.
